Bath 2nd best UK city for starting a business

Bath has ranked very highly in a list of the top cities to launch a business in the United Kingdom, taking second place behind Aberdeen and sitting ahead of Birmingham, Bristol and Manchester.

The research by card payment provider Paymentsense used measures such as five-year start-up survival rates, self-employment rates and average gross weekly pay to compile the rankings.

Pinesgate sold for £26.5 million

Europa Capital and Ediston Real Estate have sold two 1980s office buildings in Bath to Watkins Jones Group for £26.5million.

The 2.26 acre Pinesgate site is located along the Lower Bristol Road and currently comprises two detached buildings; Pinesgate East and Pinesgate West. Both properties are currently let to insurance provider Redde until 2025. The investment comes with the opportunity to obtain vacant possession to redevelop the site.

Launch party at Spaces

As the city’s newest shared workspace centre, Spaces Bath are celebrating their opening with an event for the local business community on 22 February. Based at Northgate House opposite the Guildhall, the centre houses a large, open-plan co-working area along with meeting rooms available to hire and over 70 private offices.
