Bath BID Company given go-ahead for a new five-year term

Businesses based within the Bath Business Improvement District (BID) area have voted to continue BID arrangments for another five years.

This means that a levy of 1% of rateable value will continue to be levied on eligible businesses wtihin the BID area, raising around £3.5 million in private sector investment for the city centre over a period of five years from 2016-2021.

The business-led and independent Bath BID Company has been in operation since 2010, and under BID Regulations was required to renew its business mandate for a further five years. The ballot was held in October by Bath and North East Somerset Council.

The Bath BID Company intends to continue to fund activities which are additional to Council and other statutory services in the city centre, including extra street cleaning, promotional and marketing activities, and helping businesses to make savings through procurement.
