Bath College to Launch Business Academy!
This September 29th, Bath College is launching the Bath Academy of Business, in a bid to give students valuable skills and industry experience.
Skills and Employment
Firms across the South West are finding recruitment difficult thanks to skills gaps. The recent LEP survey hopes to address this by advising policy development in response to business' needs. Bath College is leading the charge with its new Business Academy, which will work directly with companies to provide students with up-to-date, relevant skills that businesses need from employees.
The launch itself begins at 5.30pm on the 29th September in the Futures Hub, and will involve a short talk outlining the vision for the Bath Academy of Business, as well as time for networking. Companies already attending include:
- Sirona Care and Health
- Royds Withy King
- Bath Spa School of Business
Cognisess, a Bath-based company, has already signed up to support the academy. The company will encourage students to track and improve their skills using the Cognisess platform for a better chance in the job market once they graduate.
How do I get Involved?
Bath College is specifically looking for employers to give students an insight into what it's like to work for them. This could include work placements, company visits and/or student mentoring. The partnership should be beneficial to both parties, suiting the businesses and developing the full potential of the students.
