The Manufacturing Skills Fund: Increasing Digital Vocational Learning

15 Nov 2016

The UFI Charitable Trust is looking for projects that will help to achieve their vision; delivering an increase in the scale of vocational learning.

The UFI Charitable Trust

The Trust supports the delivery of adult vocational skills through digital technology, particularly for those learners who have found the traditional education system unfulfilling. By using digital technology, access is opened up to those who may have difficulty fitting into the traditional classroom model.

Skills shortages in advanced manufacturing and engineering are widely recognised across professional bodies. The Trust believes that the UK needs to increase the number of people in vocational learning in order to remain a competitive industry in the global economy.

Funding Your Projects

Between £50,000 and £150,000 is available to fund demonstrator projects which can be delivered in 18 months.

Projects must be:

  • Able to demosntrate how they deliver against sector priorities
  • Able to identify target audiences, and their impact on learners and businesses' productivity
  • Realistic and deliverable

Applications are open until 14th December 2016 (9am). To apply, register with UFI and fill in the application form (under the 'Funding' heading). Check the guidelines to keep yourself on track!

There is also a list of questions and answers available to aid you in your application, and a webinar with UFI's Chief Executive will be aired on the 29th November.
