Pitching Competition Returns at Venturefest Bristol & Bath 2017

8 Dec 2016

Following the success of 2015’s event, Venturefest Bristol & Bath will return in 2017 with a programme spanning all the way from February to October.

The February series opener features the Future City Seminar Series, in which leading businesses will discuss the future of cities and the tech challenges they might face. This will be followed by a series of events, finishing with a showcase of Bristol and Bath’s most innovative companies.

Pitching at the Investor Showcase

The investor showcase will be held during the series opener on the 3rd February. Applications are open now for start-ups looking for investment: apply here for a chance to land up to £2m!

The chosen companies will move on to a pitching competition at Bristol’s Engine Shed on the 17th January, where they will be judged by local entrepreneurs and experts. The winners will then have the opportunity to take part in a pitching workshop before finally pitching at the Investor Showcase, held in front of expert venture capital and angel investors, at the University of West England, Bristol.

What are they looking for?

This year’s theme is Smart Tech, with judges specifically looking for technologies that will positively impact how people live and work in the future. The competition is aimed at early stage startups in the technology sector.
