Venturefest Bristol and Bath 2015

8 Jun 2015

Last Tuesday, June 9th, entrepreneurs, investors, start up business and technology enthusiasts came in their hundreds to Venturefest Bristol and Bath; a celebration of the region as a centre for innovation.

The cities of Bristol and Bath combine to form the biggest tech cluster outside London, employing a massive community of tech natives within diverse and exciting industries and most of them seemed to be in attendance at this futuristic event.

There was a real buzz of creativity in the air at the Engine Shed in Bristol, where the annual event was held. We were fascinated to get to see the exciting demonstrations which took place in the innovation hub, where some of the most impressive and reputable tech businesses showcased technology from virtual reality headsets to playful new apps and gaming, to smart, solar panelled rubbish bins!

With big names buzzing around, it was the perfect day for scribbling down inspiration and advice from the experts, with a range of talks and business support sessions to attend.

Bath businesses big and small flew the flag for our strong tech sector. The managing director of BigBelly Solar UK, Bath based experts in smart waste disposal, sat on a panel of specialists who gave us the low down on how digital tech is transforming city life. Who knew buildings could tell us how healthy they are, and bins could send emails?!

VentureFest was co-ordinated by our partners at Invest Bristol and Bath.
