Bath - beautifully inventive
The Bath and Bristol area is now established as one of the three most creative centres in England (alongside Manchester and London), with a wealth of creative minds operating within and across a broad range of activities, from traditional arts, to publishing and digital content production. The BBC, Creative England and Creative Skillset all have regional bases and campuses here, and the area is home to recognised award-winning firms such as Future and Imaginarium West.
Bath was recognised in 2010 as a UK creative hotspot by NESTA and has recently been acknowledged as the most productive digital tech cluster in the UK by Tech City in the 2016 Tech Nation report.
The area has particular strengths in print and digital publishing, with Future (one of the largest employers in Bath), Mediaclash and Parragon as well as online sports content experts ShiftActiveMedia among the publishing names based here.
The co-location and collaboration between our creative content producers and technologists – supported by research and development programmes at our two outstanding Universities - makes the Bath area a particularly potent place to design and innovate.
Gaming and motion capture activities have real potential for growth in the Bath area, bringing together creative ideas with the latest technologies and research.
