Meet Bath's next generation of thinkers
The Bath area is home to a thriving ecosystem of technologists, engineers and creative thinkers who are busy partnering and collaborating to solve problems and to improve how things work.
The presence of large firms such as Civica, Altran and AMDOCS – as well as firms involved in digital publishing such as Future - has helped to foster an entrepreneurial environment locally, and a large number of small consultancy firms are designing a range of systems including online applications and services. The Filter counts NBC, Sony Music, Warner Brothers and Nokia as clients for their content relevance optimisation software.
Much of the commercial activity here has “spun out” of the University of Bath, which is internationally known for its teaching and research strengths in computer science, engineering and design.
