Local Bath business Novel Wines wins coveted Decanter Award for second year running

Novel Wines, a local wine merchant founded in 2016 by former wine journalist Ben Franks and wine importer Gyorgy Zsiga, has won 'Best Specialist Retailer - Central & Eastern Europe' at the Decanter Retailer Awards 2020.

The Decanter Awards celebrate the best retailers up and down the UK. Novel Wines were shortlisted alongside The Wine Society, Best of Hungary and Taste of Georgia. They were crowned winners on 7 September by a team of expert industry judges.

New support to help improve mental health & wellbeing for businesses

A new support programme is offering West of England employers help to respond to mental health concerns in the workplace, particularly those arising from Covid-19.

The West of England Combined Authority (WECA) is investing in the two-year Thrive at Work West of England programme, which aims to address the key mental health issues that businesses say are affecting their employees, and impacting productivity.

UWE Bristol announces a second round for its £1m Covid-19 Recovery Fund

Following on from a successful first round, UWE Bristol has launched the second round of funding for its Digital Innovation Fund, a £1m Covid-19 recovery fund open to SMEs in the West of England. The programme is supporting Research and Development projects in a range of industries and will be creating more innovation opportunities with this second round.

The scheme, funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), offers eligible businesses innovation grants from £10,000 to £40,000 to fund 35% of project costs.

Kitchen retailer Kutchenhaus has opened its first ever store in Bath, marking its 34th showroom to open in the UK.

The store, at Saracen Street near Waitrose, has opened its doors to the public, serving customers across Bath and surrounding areas. The new showroom will harness the latest technology to provide virtual appointments and use its new online 3D planning and design tool to create kitchens remotely for local customers that do not wish to come to the store.
