One-off Restart grants are available to businesses that are predominantly reliant on delivering in-person services for the general public.

Business Growth Grants support businesses from all sectors to adapt to the challenges they face as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Business Growth Grants are designed to support SMEs in the West of England with their plans to drive growth by implementing new business practices or adopting new ways of working.

The grants are open to businesses across all sectors, from sole traders to established SMEs.

Extra support for cultural and creative businesses

The West of England Combined Authority (WECA) is launching a new business support programme for businesses and individuals working in the creative industries, as part of its Regional Recovery Plan.

The programme is aimed at small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) working in the creative industries, including creative freelancers, that require support as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Around one in three people who have coronavirus will experience no symptoms. Rapid lateral flow testing is important in reducing the risk that they pose to others.

Businesses asked to help tackle digital poverty

Regional Mayor Tim Bowles is supporting a business-led campaign to supply community groups, schools and charities in need of laptops and other IT equipment.

The Mayor and the West of England Combined Authority have joined forces with Business in the Community’s National Business Response Network who are leading the campaign.

Covid-19 and the move to working online is challenging for many communities across the West of England and the National Business Response Network was set up to match business resources to community needs.

Vehicle charging scheme to cut air pollution launches in Bath

Today (Monday 15 March), the UK’s first charging clean air zone (CAZ) outside of London launches in Bath to drive down harmful pollution and protect public health.

From midnight, polluting vehicles will be charged £9 or £100 a day to drive in the centre of Bath. Private cars and motorbikes will not be charged.

Bath named as one of the best places to live and do business in

Bath has been named as one of the top places in the country to live and do business in, according to a new study.

The annual Vitality Index, carried out by Property company Lambert Smith Hampton, highlights Bath as the third best performing location in the county when assessed against a range of factors including the local economy, health outcomes and the environment.

It follows two separate reports published last year which named Bath as the most progressive city in the UK and the second-best location in the country to work from home.
