Staying safe and supporting local shopping streets is a message set to spread across Bath and North East Somerset. I Love Local has been devised by Bath & North East Somerset Council together with partners Visit Bath, Bath BID and Invest in Bath to support retail businesses and promote the message that it’s safe to go back to our high streets.
Stay Safe, Support Local
I Love Local
The campaign is funded by the European Regional Development Fund through the Reopening the High Streets Safely Fund and aims to reinforce public health messaging around social distancing and hand hygiene at the same time as encouraging people to shop locally by championing local shops and businesses.
The campaign will kick-start with the launch of 'I Love Widcombe' on Friday 7 August, at Widcombe High Street for the I Love Widcombe Campaign.
Campaign tools are being made available to all our High Streets, market towns and city centre shopping areas across Bath and North East Somerset.
Flags or Banners will go up at each #ilovelocal location and items including test & trace contact sheets, flyers and poster safety messaging will be provided. Also facemasks and tote bags bearing the area’s branding will be made available for people to buy.
The #ILoveLocal campaign is about celebrating the B&NES high streets. We’re encouraging customers to come back to their safe local shops, supporting the local economy and local jobs.
We’d love it if you could use your social media accounts to join the conversation, using #ILoveLocal @bathnes and posting photos and videos. Whether you’re a local organisation, business group or charity in your locality – we need your help to reach local audiences asking them to support your areas #ILoveLocal campaign.
We look forward to seeing the #ILoveLocal message spread across Bath and North East Somerset.
