As it stands the United Kingdom is set to leave the European Union (EU) on 31 October 2019. We have created this resource for businesses in Bath and North East Somerset to find out the following information: -
- what your business or organisation may need to do to prepare for Brexit
- what’s changing in your industry
- information on specific rules and regulations
- what local and national support services are available
To date the council's Business & Skills Team has been working with businesses that have high levels of EU employees and referring them to the Department of International Trade's visa support service. We are also planning a series of workshops, which will provide information on exporting which will be available to any Bath & North East Somerset based business. We continue to be proactive and once the full impact of our exit from the EU is known, we will approach local businesses that are most at risk on a strategic basis.
Government Information and Resources
The government has a range of information including regulations, employing EU citizens and importing, exporting and transporting on their Gov.uk Brexit web pages. These pages will be updated as and when required over the coming weeks.
You can also use the government's online Brexit checklist, where by answering a few questions you can be directed to more specific advice.
