Trustees wanted by Bath Artists' Studios

4 Feb 2019

Would you like to play a role in the future of Bath Artists’ Studios, the city’s largest and most ambitious community of artists and designers?  This vibrant and innovative Educational Charity is seeking to appoint new Trustees with experience in property, law and human resources to contribute their expertise to the organisation at this critical juncture in its life and history.

With a diverse portfolio of creative practitioners, partnerships with Universities and community organisations across the city and a dynamic programme of exhibitions, classes and events, Bath Artists' Studios has a great future.  However they also have to meet with the challenges facing many businesses and organisations – the need to secure long-term premises and to generate sufficient income to ensure their future sustainability. Your contribution will be vital to ensuring that they meet with these goals.

Acting as a Trustee is a rewarding experience, exchanging skill and knowledge with colleagues and building new networks and friendships.  As a Trustee you will be responsible (with your colleagues) for the fiscal and legal good governance of the organisation and for contributing to financial, policy and personnel decision making.  You will also act as an advocate for BAS, championing its work and contribution to Bath’s cultural life to your colleagues and the wider community.

Becoming a Trustee is not an onerous commitment.  Bath Artist's Studios request that you serve for a minimum of two years attending 3 out of 4 quarterly meetings per annum.  Whilst they do not expect trustees to be present at all activities organised by the studios, they do ask for your regular attendance at a selection of openings and events.
