Your comments needed on Bath Quays North
Last month an outline planning application was submitted to Bath & North East Somerset Council for the development of Bath Quays North, following public consultation towards the end of last year. The Bath Quays North application is an important step forward in the Council’s economic strategy to create jobs and opportunities for local people. A large proportion of the business community have spoken to Invest in Bath about the urgent need for modern workspace in Bath city centre, and with the outline planning application only open for consultation until 10 February we wanted to ensure everyone had the chance to comment.
About the plans for Bath Quays North
Bath Quays is the Council’s flagship regeneration project to create a new and vibrant commercial quarter for Bath’s flourishing businesses in the heart of the city. Bath Quays North, near Churchill Bridge, is a major part of the scheme. The site also sits within the Bath and Somey Valley Enterprise Zone. The outline plans of Bath Quays North include the following key elements: -
- 15,000 square metres of modern new office floorspace
- 270 residential units
- 1,400 square metres of retail and food and drink uses
As part of the proposed scheme, the old multi-storey car park would be replaced with a new and safer basement car park with up to 485 spaces, of which 320 will be public spaces.
